Wow
What a weekend. And not in a good way either, although not as bad as it all could have been. First of all, I have a vicious cold that knocked me out of commission for most of the weekend. I missed Alyssa's birthday party, Mike's baby shower, and a fun poker night at Chelsie's.
Of course, most of this was complicated by the drama ensuing at the house of two of our best friends. Tom and Talmar's house nearly burned down. And I don't mean nearly because it almost caught fire, I mean nearly because it DID catch fire but the damage didn't level it. Still, the original part of the house (not the part being built) is almost a loss. The entire roof including rafters will have to be replaced, the interior refinished, the kitchen probably gutted and repaired. Thankfully, Tom is okay after some minor smoke inhalation, the cat was rescued by firefighters and resucitated and is recovering well, and Talmar was not home.
That latter one is critically important because it is now public knowledge that TALMAR IS PREGNANT! Yippee! This is very good news. She will be out of the first trimester on Thursday and they've been keeping a tight lid on it because this pregnancy has not been quick in coming. I pray that it stays with all good news as she goes into her testing this week and/or next.
No news on that front with us. Waiting for ovulation. Hoping Clomid told my body to release one or two eggs and not 12.
What else? Ummmm... Joe's working very hard, and so am I. There have been lots of changes at work. My boss got a lateral promotion and is leaving us. Our team has been demolished by quitting people and medical leaves, and as such we're merging with another team who lost their Director to a promtion and we don't know who the knew merged team's Director will be. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for them to post another Team Lead opening and hoping this will be the one.
So, I guess that's all for now. That's plenty to keep us busy for a while.
